Vietnam Airlines Adds Nonstop Routes to Indonesia, Italy, Strengthens Global Connectivity in 2025

Vietnam Airlines is set to expand its global reach by launching new non-stop international routes connecting Vietnam with Indonesia, Italy and the UK. The major expansion will start in the summer of 2025 and continue into the winter of 2025–2026, marking a strategic move by Vietnam’s national carrier to strengthen its position in the global aviation market.
The APEX-approved five-star airline has announced its flight schedule from London Heathrow Airport for the next two seasons. Starting April 28, 2025, Vietnam Airlines will operate three weekly non-stop flights to Hanoi and two weekly non-stop flights to Ho Chi Minh City. Then, starting October 26, 2025, the frequency of these flights will be increased to daily. All services will be operated by modern Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
In addition to expanding its UK connections, the airline is also introducing two exciting new international routes: non-stop flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Denpasar, Bali, starting on 1 June 2025, and a route between Milan and Hanoi launching in July. These new routes will significantly strengthen connectivity between Southeast Asia and Europe.
Vietnam Airlines is currently the only airline offering non-stop services from the UK to Vietnam. Flights from Heathrow Terminal 4 are scheduled at night to provide maximum passenger comfort. Passengers can also connect from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to popular destinations in Asia and Australasia, including Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Japan and Australia.

The service will be upgraded to daily flights in July, making it the second direct route connecting Vietnam with Indonesia. The total weekly flights between the two countries will increase to 14.
In Europe, the airline will make history by becoming the only Vietnamese airline to offer non-stop flights to Italy. Starting July 2025, Vietnam Airlines will operate three flights per week between Hanoi and Milan using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. This route will expand Vietnam Airlines’ European network to nine destinations. In addition, the airline also plans to open a new route from Ho Chi Minh City to Milan in the future.
