Tiger Woods’ life story to be made into a movie – a new biopic depicting the legendary trajectory

The life of golf legend Tiger Woods is set to be brought to the big screen in a new biographical film.
Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the film rights to author Kevin Cook’s book “The Tiger Slam,” which will tell the story of Woods’ historic 2000 victory in the U.S. Open (Pebble Beach), British Open and PGA Championship (Valhalla), completing the “Tiger Slam” that made golf history.
The film will be produced by Higher Ground Productions, founded by former US President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Winkler Films, and will be directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who worked on King Richard.
The history of “Tiger Slam”
Cook’s book, “The Tiger Slam,” provides a detailed look behind the scenes at Woods’ incredible winning streak that culminated in a series of dominating major championship victories in 2000. It looks back at the young Woods’ unprecedented power, strategic acumen and fearless spirit as he took the golf world by storm.
Featuring testimonials from Woods’ caddies, coaches, rivals and even golfers Woods himself idolized, the film details his greatest moments of triumph and how the challenges on and off the golf course have shaped his career.
From the youngest champion in history to the present
Tiger Woods made his professional debut in 1996 and became the youngest player ever to become number one in the world at the age of 21. Since then, he has won numerous major titles and become one of the most popular golf stars.
Recently, he has continued to attract attention by participating in the newly established TGL Golf League and receiving an invitation to the Masters Tournament in 2025. He has won the Masters five times in the past, and expectations are high for him to do well in the next tournament.
Overcoming an injury
However, despite his illustrious career, Woods has also been plagued by repeated injuries. Earlier this year, he announced on his social media that he had undergone “minimally invasive surgery” for a torn left Achilles tendon. In the post, he said, “I felt a sharp pain in my left foot, and after diagnosis, I decided to have surgery because I had a torn tendon.”
Despite overcoming a series of injuries, Woods has not lost his influence in the golf world and continues to play as a top player. This film adaptation will once again convey his great achievements to the world.
